Athens

ATHENS - Considered to be the cradle of European civilization, Athens is one of the oldest capitals of the Western World. This famous Greek city unites ancient culture and modern life. We will arrive in Piraeus, the biggest port of the Mediterranean Sea, early in the morning. After discovering the colourfull streets of Athens, the Olympic Kalimarmaro Stadium is our next stop. AKANT travel shows you the famous Acropolis, the Theatre of Dionysus and many more interesting sights. Don’t miss to check the mounting of the guards in front of the Greek Parliament!

Meteora

METEORA - The Meteora is one of the largest and most important complexes of Greek Orthodox monasteries in Greece, second only to Mount Athos. The six monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock pillars, at the north-western edge of the Plain of Thessaly near the Pineios River and Pindus Mountains, in central Greece. Being on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Meteora is definitely worth a trip. On the way back we will visit the Valley of Tempi, where we will have a look at the small church St. Paraskevi.

Skiathos

SKIATHOS - This very beautiful green island is the westernmost island in the Northern Sporades group, where azure waves of the Aegean Sea break against sandy and rocky beaches. The route of our trip is leading along the Pelion peninsula. AKANT travel will also show you the capital of the island Skiathos - a picturesque small town with white houses and blue shutters and very beautiful flowers. Skiathos offers over 60, mostly sandy, beaches scattered around the 44 km coastline. You will have some free time for a relaxing stay on the beach.

Mount Olympus

MOUNT OLYMPUS - The highest and most magnificent mountain in Greece is the famous Mount Olympus. In Greek mythology, Olympus was home to the Twelve Olympian gods of the ancient Greek world. This mountain is located in the Olympus Range on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Pieria and Larissa, about 80 km southwest from Thessaloniki. The peaks are rocky and mostly covered by snow during winter months. The alpine zone starts at 1600 m and offers skiing lifts and other snow activities. In summer, Mount Olympus is a must-see for nature-lovers and hiking-enthusiasts. With AKANT travel you will visit the small town Litochordo and the monastery St. Dionysius while going up Mount Olympus and enjoying the view over the region.

Castle of Platamon

Castle of Platamon - This lovely castle from the 10th century AD was built in the Byzantine period and is located south-east of Mount Olympus. Due to the strategic position and the overlooking tower, it was possible to control important ways form Macedonia to Southern Greece.

Edessa & Pozar

EDESSA & POZAR - With AKANT travel you can visit the natural hot springs of Pozar. The water has a constant temperature of 37 °C and a healing effect to many different diseases such as arthritis or skin problems. A trip to Pozar offers a beautiful combination of nature, relaxation and the benefits of hydrotherapy. THESSALONIKI - The main city of the region Macedonia is an ancient pearl of the Byzantine Empire and the second largest city of Greece. Athos

MOUNT ATHOS is a mountain and peninsula in Northern Greece. With AKANT travel you will visit this World Heritage Site which is commonly referred to as the "Holy Mountain". Greek night

GREEK NIGHT - In order to honour the god of wine, Dionysus, we will go to a typical Greek tavern in the evening. While sipping Greek wine and enjoying the local cuisine, we will have the possibility to dance the famous Sirtaki, made popular by the movie “Zorbas the Greek”.

Waterland

WATERLAND - One of the largest water parks in Greece is located in the village of Tagarades, at the outskirts of Thessaloniki on the way to Chalkidiki. It offers many attractions for children and adults: slides, swimming pools with artificial waves, Jacuzzi, bars, restaurants and shops.
